Original job description

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Entry Level Substation Engineer for our Syracuse, New York office. Be involved in projects with our Substation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges. This Opportunity As demand for electricity continues to surge, the power industry is undergoing one of the largest infrastructure expansions in decades. Utilities, data center developers, manufacturers, and renewable energy providers are investing billions to modernize and expand the electric grid. In this role, you'll help design the substations and electrical infrastructure that make this growth possible while working alongside experienced engineers on projects that power communities, support emerging technologies, and shape the future of energy. From day one, you'll gain hands-on experience, meaningful responsibilities, and exposure to projects that have a lasting impact on how electricity is delivered across North America. If you're energized by large-scale infrastructure projects, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and want to help shape the future of digital infrastructure, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while accelerating your career on some of the most significant power delivery projects being developed today.

In this role, you’ll help shape the early vision for substation design and electrical infrastructure supporting cutting-edge projects. You’ll contribute to developing preliminary concepts and layouts that inform key feasibility and planning decisions - giving you exposure to the most strategic phase of project delivery. This role contributes to early-stage substation planning and design development for clients, working collaboratively across business lines to support feasibility, site evaluation, and infrastructure planning. WSP brings global expertise in power delivery, power generation, and program management - anchored by the acquisition of POWER Engineers, Inc. TRC Companies have now joined WSP, deepening our power practice and expanding our energy advisory and intelligent grid services. We're partnering with clients to shape how energy systems evolve around the world - and we need your help. Your Impact
