The Wolcott Board of Education is accepting applications for the following position:

Title: Principal (Alcott Elementary School)

Wolcott Public Schools seeks a dedicated leader to guide, support, and facilitate the work of students, families, and staff at Alcott Elementary School. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of collaborating with staff members and families in making decisions that benefit the academic, social-emotional, and civic development of students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth. A strong background in collaborative, evidence-driven decision making is preferred.

The principal is the professional leader of the school, responsible directly to the Superintendent for instructional and administrative leadership. It is the duty and responsibility of the Principal to guide and direct the total operation of the school in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, the adopted policies of the Board of Education, and the directives of the Superintendent.

Requirements:

• A valid Connecticut 092 Intermediate Administrator and Supervision certification
• At least five years of successful teaching experience
• Administrative experience preferred
• A record of achievement in organizing and supervising school programs including both student and professional personnel
