Social Work Assistant

Willmar Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for the position of

Social Work Assistant.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

• Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in challenging or high-stress situations.

• Familiarity with de-escalation strategies, PBIS frameworks, or trauma-informed practices is preferred.

• Ability to build rapport easily with students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or coursework in human services, education, or child development preferred.

• Prior experience working with children or adolescents in a school setting, youth program, or community setting is required.
