Maintenance Millwright

Perform maintenance and repair on all mechanical and structural aspects of sawmill and planer mill. Perform troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and adjustment on mill machinery. Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery as indicated. Minimum two years’ experience in sawmill or planer mill with some mechanical abilities. Ability to learn troubleshooting skills, basic hydraulics and pneumatics. Must be able to arc weld, perform field repairs and layout and fabrication.

JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL: (The fundamental job duties) · Know and follow lock out procedures for each machine center · Use fall protection equipment when working at unprotected heights · Work well as a member of a crew · Work well alone, unsupervised · Must be able to weld in all positions · Able to use cutting torch · Able to safely use powered hand tools such as grinders, drill motors, mag drills · Evaluate machinery while in operation and plan repair sequence to perform repairs in a timely matter · Able to work on ladders and elevated work platforms · Manual dexterity to use various hand tools · Ability to reason and evaluate challenges and develop a logical sequence of steps to make necessary repairs
