Original job description

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, including working closely with stakeholders to develop plans, establish timetables, and determine labor and material costs. This position ensures the project is completed on budget and within scope through overall project planning, resource distribution, time management, risk management, creating benchmarks, managing the budget, managing staff, and managing key relationships with subcontractors, consultants, engineers, and client representatives.

Whitaker Holdings is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) family of companies with over 70 years of experience in heavy civil construction, underground utilities, and telecommunications. Whitaker Holdings encompasses multiple companies, including Whitaker Construction, DasCo of Idaho, Advanced Cable Technology, and Bighorn Traffic Services. Operating across Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado, Oregon, and beyond, our companies are united by four core values - Value Safety, Embrace Ownership, Be Honorable, and Elevate Team - which guide how we work, how we treat each other, and how we deliver quality results on some of the most challenging projects in the region.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop and manage the project schedule, pay estimates, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
Assess the initial project contract and supporting documents for completeness. Work with the owner to resolve specification, contract conflict, and scheduling issues.
Report and document changes to each job, including change orders, submittals, changes to the plan set, changes to work orders due to a change order, and any other change to the original contract.
Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites.
Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of the on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Allocate and manage resources to ensure they are available when needed throughout the construction process.
Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key members of the project team.
Create and present the monthly cost and revenue forecast.
Ensure project safety reviews and procedures are followed by conducting weekly safety checks and engaging in safety meetings. Support the safety programs of the project and the owner.
Lead project closeout procedures, including finalizing contract paperwork, obtaining retainages, and working with management to resolve any project claims. Review all aspects of project work and completion.
Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and standards of safety.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Senior Project Manager or management team.

Skills and Qualifications:
