Job Skills / Requirements

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Strip, wax, buff, burnish, and maintain hard surface floors.
• Operate floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and wet/dry vacuums.
• Perform carpet cleaning, shampooing, and spot removal as needed.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain assigned floor areas daily.
• Maintain hallways, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and other assigned areas.
• Properly use, clean, and maintain floor care equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating equipment.
• Place appropriate wet floor signs and safety barriers when performing floor maintenance.
• Report damaged flooring, equipment issues, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete assigned tasks within established time frames.
• Assist with general custodial duties when needed.
• Follow all instructions provided by supervisors and management.

Physical Requirements

? Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the work shift.

? Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

? Ability to operate commercial floor cleaning equipment safely.

? Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

? Previous floor care or custodial experience preferred.

? Knowledge of stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing procedures preferred.

? Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

? Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
