Instructional Assistant I

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Instructional Assistant I to join our team at Sebree Elementary School. This full-time position will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality educational experiences to students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and committed to enhancing student engagement and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and lesson plans.
• Support individual and small group instruction tailored to students' needs.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance.
• Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
• Prepare instructional materials and resources for lessons.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods.
• Participate in professional development and training sessions as required.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration.

Requirements

• 42 college credit hours or pass para educator assessment
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically and socially.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
• Must pass background checks as required by the school district.
