Traffic Supervisor / Crossing Guard

Position Title: Traffic Supervisor / Crossing Guard Department: Police Department Full Time/hours: 5 hours / week Union/Grade: Non-Union Salary Range: $9,952 per year The Town of Wayland Police Department is seeking dependable and community-minded individuals to serve as a Traffic Supervisor/Crossing Guard during the school year from September to June. This essential role assists school children, parents and other pedestrians, in safely crossing streets near school zones by managing pedestrian and vehicle interactions during school arrival and dismissal times. The successful candidate must be able to work outside in a variety of weather/temperature conditions, the ability to stand for long periods, an understanding of basic crossing procedures, and excellent customer service skills in working with children and families. The work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 8:00AM to 8:45AM, and 3:10PM to 3:40pm; and Wednesdays from 8:00AM to 8:45AM, and 2:25PM to 2:55PM. Education: High School diploma, or equivalent. CPR certification preferred. Experience: One (1) year of related experience preferred.
