ADA Shuttle Driver

Job Summary:

The ADA Shuttle Driver is a seasonal position that assists with shuttling cruise ship passengers with accessibility needs safely into town and back to their ship. ADA Shuttle Drivers work with an adaptable schedule based on the Ward Cove cruise ship schedule. This role requires adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist passengers with safe entry and exit of the vehicle, as well as safely securing both passenger and special equipment they may be traveling with.

• Operate Shuttle Lift for special mobility equipment.

• Shuttle passengers along designated route while adhering to state and company regulations.

• Provide pre-determined narration that is entertaining and informative to the cruise ship passengers.

• Answer questions from passengers and ensure full clarification of important instructions such as drop-off and pick-up points.

• Maintain fuel and cleanliness of ADA Vehicle regularly.

• Perform daily inspections of the vehicle for pre- and post-trip and alert Transportation Manager of any concerns.

• Document any incidents that may occur and report to Transportation Manager immediately.

• Complete additional tasks as assigned by Transportation Manager.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to perform and adapt under pressure while maintaining safety standards.

• Ability to conduct scripted narration while entertaining guests.

• Fast-paced adaptability

Education and Experience:

• One year or more of related experience required

• Driver’s License required

• Must be over 21

• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

• Ability to kneel or bend to secure ADA equipment.

• Ability to sit/drive 10 hours per shift.
