Role summary:

The Manager, Tech Ops leads complex, high-priority opportunities that improve customer experience and fulfillment-network performance. This role uses rigorous analysis to explain changes in customer access, speed, promise, volume, and cost; identify root causes and high-value opportunities; and translate insight into clear recommendations. The Manager aligns Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Strategy on trade-offs, plans, and accountability, then drives implementation through sustained, measurable results. Success requires strategic thinking, strong supply-chain analytics, executive communication, and influence without direct authority.

About the team:

The Network Performance & Orchestration team monitors Walmart’s fulfillment network performance and drives enterprise-wide improvements. The team analyzes key factors such as customer access, delivery speed, volume flow, capacity, service, and cost, translating insights into actionable plans with measurable outcomes. It directs speed execution, evaluates network and asset changes, and enhances readiness for peak periods. Collaborating across Product, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Merchandising, Stores, Fulfillment Centers, Last Mile, Transportation, and Strategy, the team balances speed, assortment, cost, and operational feasibility to optimize customer outcomes and overall network efficiency.

What you'll do:

  • Analyze customer, operational, technical, and financial data to explain changes in access, promise, volume flow, service, capacity, and cost.
  • Lead root-cause analysis, scenario evaluation, and business cases to identify high-value opportunities and recommend action.
  • Develop performance metrics, tools, and executive narratives that surface risks, trade-offs, and opportunities.
  • Align cross-functional partners on priorities, readiness, owners, and milestones; drive initiatives through implementation and measurement.
  • Evaluate network and asset changes, support peak readiness, and confirm solutions deliver sustained results.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience using SQL, BI, or similar tools to analyze complex data and explain business performance.
  • Strong structured problem-solving and financial acumen; able to identify root causes, assess trade-offs, and size opportunities.
  • Experience in eCommerce, fulfillment, supply chain, or another complex operating environment.
  • Ability to translate analysis into concise executive narratives and clear recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams, lead ambiguous initiatives, and drive measurable results.
