Role summary:

The Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, oversees and guides associates in maintaining high-quality exterior facility standards. This role ensures compliance with safety and operational policies while managing landscaping, seasonal maintenance, and equipment upkeep. The position involves coordinating work assignments, supporting training and certification, and implementing improvements to optimize costs and sustainability. The Lead Technician also manages vehicle maintenance, enforces safety protocols, and fosters effective communication to meet business objectives. About the team:

The Exterior Services team is committed to maintaining Walmart properties through expert landscaping, irrigation system installation, and exterior upkeep. Team members operate specialized equipment and manage their locations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. They perform routine and seasonal maintenance, troubleshoot irrigation systems, and support facility functionality. Focused on quality and safety, the team collaborates to deliver consistent results that enhance the environment for associates, members, and visitors. Their dedication directly supports the appearance and performance of Walmart facilities, fostering a well-maintained and welcoming atmosphere across all locations.

What you'll do:

• Supervise associates by assigning duties, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and external regulations such as OSHA and DOT.
• Manage landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, pest control, and seasonal exterior tasks like snow and ice removal.
• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, performing safety checks and coordinating necessary repairs.
• Develop and manage budgets, approve purchases, and source equipment to support facility needs.
• Lead teams to meet business priorities, promote continuous improvement, and support associate development.

What you'll bring:

• Proven leadership experience supervising and developing associates in a facility services environment.
• Strong knowledge of landscape management, horticulture methods, and exterior maintenance practices.
• Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Skilled in applying safety standards and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, DOT, and other regulations.
• Proficient in coordinating work activities, managing budgets, and sourcing tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills to address facility user concerns.
• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
