Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R

Role summary:

The (USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R, supports the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. This role involves completing required documentation, assisting with capital expenditure planning, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs under supervision. The technician collaborates with management and business partners to identify priorities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. By adapting to change and continuously improving processes, this position contributes to efficient facility operations and cost control while upholding Walmart’s standards of integrity and service excellence.

About the team:

The team manages exterior facility projects, including landscaping, maintenance, and safety compliance aligned with OSHA standards. They oversee work assignments, material procurement, and budgeting to ensure quality and efficiency. Collaborating with internal and external partners, the team maintains safe, well-functioning environments that support store operations. Their proactive approach addresses facility needs, sustains operational excellence, and advances business goals. This group plays a key role in delivering reliable service and fostering effective teamwork to uphold facility standards and support ongoing maintenance efforts.

What you'll do:

• Complete and submit required documentation such as expense vouchers, refrigerant logs, and work orders to senior leadership.
• Assist in gathering capital expenditure lists and develop scopes of work for HVAC/R and energy management system updates.
• Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC/R equipment under supervision.
• Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to identify priorities, deadlines, and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following safety policies and procedures.
• Manage company vehicles by coordinating maintenance, inspections, and documentation.
• Communicate progress and adapt to feedback while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:

• Experience performing HVAC/R preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in compliance with safety regulations.
• Ability to complete and submit required documentation accurately, including work orders and refrigerant logs.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R systems, energy management, and related equipment such as compressors and motors.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with management, coworkers, and business partners.
• Capability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate progress clearly.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
