Original job description
First Shift (4:00AM - 4:30PM) - 3 days x 12.5 hour shifts
Do you take pride in a perfect cut, a crisp fold, and a job that leaves our dock looking exactly the way the customer pictured it?
Wallace Graphics is one of the largest and fastest-growing commercial print companies headquartered in Georgia – and we're looking for a Bindery Operator to keep our finishing floor humming and turn freshly printed sheets into finished work our clients are proud to put their name on.
Our services span commercial print, direct mail, wide format print and installation, digital storefront implementation and management, branded apparel and merchandising with a team full of print experts ready to solve the most complex challenges. We offer full-service solutions for our clients using the latest technology with the very best equipment.
Our continued growth is a testament to our talented workforce and passionate leadership. We operate in a team-oriented environment built on strong values and a genuine priority on lasting relationships – with our clients and our people. We believe that engaging, training, and rewarding our employees are the secret ingredients to our success. We invest in the growth of our people, from cross-training to hands-on mentorship. If you're looking for a place where your work matters and your career can grow, you'll feel that here.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on bindery pro who wants to run great equipment alongside a strong first-shift crew – and keep growing with a company that trains its people. Whether your background is on the cutter, the folder, or the stitcher, we want to hear from you. We are looking for a Bindery Operator to join our team in Duluth.
The Ideal Candidate:
This role reports to our Bindery Manager and sits at the heart of our finishing operation – the step where printed sheets become finished product. You'll set up, run, and maintain bindery equipment (cutting, folding, or stitching, depending on your experience), reading the job jacket, dialing the machine in to spec, and holding quality from the first sheet to the last. If you have 1–2 years of bindery machine experience on a cutter, folder, or stitcher, you already have the foundation; we'll help you build the rest, including cross-training on additional equipment as you grow. It's the right seat for someone who's detail-minded, mechanically inclined, dependable, and happiest on a busy production floor.
What You'll Bring:
- Hands-on bindery experience – at least 1–2 years operating production bindery equipment, whether that's cutting, folding, or stitching, and comfort navigating the control panel and parts of machine equipment.
- A sharp eye for specs – you can read job jackets, imposition and rule-up sheets, and written and verbal instructions, figure out the cut, fold, or stitch the job calls for, and use basic math to get it right.
- Setup and quality instincts – you set up and adjust the machine at the start of the run and as needed during it, check your work along the way, and make sure every job meets the customer's quality and quantity requirements before it moves on or ships.
- A mechanical mind – you understand basic machine maintenance, keep your equipment cleaned and lubricated, spot problems early, resolve what you can, and know when to bring in the Manager.
- Comfort with the tech side of the floor – basic computer and keyboard skills to log your jobs in our data collection system.
- A team-first, safety-first attitude – you manage your time well, can direct fellow crew members when a job calls for it, keep your work area and the bindery clean and tidy, and follow every safety rule, every time.
Benefits include (in addition to a competitive salary):
- Health, dental and vision insurance
- Health savings account access
- Group life insurance
- 401k retirement plan plus employer match
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- Recognition rewards and bonuses
- Regular team building events
