Original job description
Wafer is the fastest inference cloud for open source models.
We're looking for a hands-on DevOps engineer to make it easier for our team to build, test, ship and work securely. You'll own practical tooling and automation across our development workflows and employee devices.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable builds, tests and deployments.
- Improve release workflows, including deployment checks, rollback paths and visibility into failures.
- Build developer tools and automate repetitive setup and operational work.
- Manage employee device provisioning, configuration, software updates and offboarding.
- Work with security and compliance on device controls, access provisioning and removal, and clear operational records.
- Investigate failures, fix underlying problems and document workflows the team can use.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
- Strong scripting and debugging skills, with practical knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Experience managing employee devices and access, or demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar systems and own them reliably.
- Good judgment about reliability and security, clear communication and strong follow-through.
BENEFITS
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Daily lunch and dinner, unlimited PTO, and parental leave.
- $1K/month housing stipend (post-tax) if you live within walking distance (0.5 miles) from the office.
- Covered Uber/Waymo from/to office.
- Relocation allowance and benefits.
- Visa sponsorship available.
