Original job description

Join the dynamic journey at Vynca, where we're passionate about transforming care for individuals with complex needs.

We’re more than just a team; we're a close-knit community. Our shared commitment to caring for each other and those we serve is what sets us apart. Guided by our unwavering core values: Excellence, Compassion, Curiosity, and Integrity, we forge paths of success together. Join us in this transformative movement where you can contribute to making a profound difference every day.

At Vynca, our mission is to provide comprehensive care for more quality days at home.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with 5+ years of experience building production-grade applications across the stack. You will work on our Vynca Clinical solution, collaborating closely with design, product, and engineering teammates to deliver performant, secure, and user-friendly software that improves the delivery of high-touch care.

You’ll own features end-to-end - from backend APIs to frontend UI - and work across a modern stack that includes React, TypeScript, FastAPI, and GraphQL. We are looking for someone excited by clean code, thoughtful design, and a strong sense of ownership in building product-focused software.

This is a hybrid position based in San Mateo, CA, with an expectation of working from the office 2 days per week.

EVERGREEN POSTING

VYNCA HIRES FOR THIS ROLE ON AN ONGOING BASIS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THIS POSTING STAYS OPEN BECAUSE WE REGULARLY HAVE OPENINGS FOR SENIOR FULL STACK ENGINEERS, BUT WE DON’T HAVE A FIXED START DATE OR HIRING TIMELINE. WE REVIEW APPLICATIONS AS POSITIONS BECOME AVAILABLE, AND NOT EVERY APPLICANT WILL BE CONTACTED RIGHT AWAY. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOESN’T GUARANTEE AN INTERVIEW OR OFFER. IF YOUR BACKGROUND STRONGLY MATCHES A CURRENT OR UPCOMING OPENING, A MEMBER OF OUR TEAM WILL REACH OUT. APPLICATIONS MAY BE KEPT ON FILE FOR 6 MONTHS FOR FUTURE OPENINGS.

Handle authentication flows with Auth0.
Build protected and dynamic routes with react-router-dom.
Write unit and integration tests using tools like Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright and MSW.
Implement features like file uploads, PDF generation (pdf-lib), digital signature capture, and custom surveys.
Use LaunchDarkly for feature flagging and Vite for builds and local dev.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred).
5+ years of experience in full stack or frontend/backend development roles.
Proficient in React and TypeScript.
Experience integrating GraphQL and REST APIs.
Familiarity with backend frameworks such as FastAPI or similar.
Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs like SQLAlchemy.
Comfortable with git, monorepos, and Yarn or similar package managers.
Testing experience on both frontend (Vitest, Testing Library) and backend (Pytest).
Experience working in Agile teams using Jira and Scrum ceremonies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Strawberry GraphQL or Apollo Server, HAPI FHIR.
