STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER - \$148K - \$204K ANNUALLY STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER - VulcanForms (Devens, MA) Founded in 2015, VulcanForms is developing industrial-scale laser metal additive manufacturing solutions. Its vertically integrated capabilities combine scalable additive manufacturing and precision machining to produce critical products for aerospace, defense, medical, and other essential industries. About the Role: Lead the architecture and evolution of VulcanForms? next-generation toolpathing platform. This hands-on, strategic role will help build a scalable, high-performance, cloud-based system integrated with the broader CAD-to-print workflow, while supporting legacy production systems and guiding modernization efforts. Key Responsibilities: -Define the architecture for a next-generation toolpathing system that uses cloud elasticity to deliver performance, scalability, and a strong user experience -Design product lifecycle management (PLM) integrations to create a seamless digital thread from customer request through manufacturing execution -Partner with Product Owners and Scrum Leaders to translate architecture into executable plans -Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and support -Lead modernization efforts while supporting legacy production systems -Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence Qualifications: -Bachelor?s or master?s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience -10+ years of professional software development experience -Experience with on-premises and cloud-based applications -Proven track record modernizing or rebuilding production systems -Experience across the full software development lifecycle Preferred Qualifications: -Strong background in computational geometry and related algorithms -Experience in a regulated or quality-critical manufacturing environment Compensation: -\$148,000 - \$204,000 per year *Actual compensation is based on the candidate?s skills, qualifications, and experience.
