Senior Software Engineer – Media & Content Delivery Systems

VueData is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Media & Content Delivery Systems with Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related field +5 years of progressive experience in a related occupation.

Duties:

• Architect, design, and develop scalable, distributed streaming platforms supporting live and on-demand video delivery across web, mobile, OTT, and connected TV applications.
• Design and implement end-to-end media delivery systems, including video ingestion, processing, encoding, packaging, and playback at global scale.
• Develop and optimize video transcoding and processing pipelines, including adaptive bitrate ladder generation and media packaging for efficient cross-device playback.
• Design and maintain resilient, high-availability services supporting low-latency content delivery and large-scale concurrency.
• Work with content delivery networks (CDNs), edge caching strategies, and global distribution systems to optimize performance and delivery efficiency.
• Lead system architecture initiatives including capacity planning, traffic scaling strategies, and performance optimization for high-throughput workloads.
• Build and support microservices-based architectures and RESTful APIs that integrate across the streaming technology stack.
• Implement and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including containerized deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code automation.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to streaming quality, latency, reliability, and system performance, including participation in incident response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and client application teams to deliver reliable and seamless streaming experiences.
• Define and drive best practices for system design, observability, scalability, and operational excellence in production environments.

Job Location: VueData, 11332 NE 122nd Way, Suite 100, Kirkland, WA 98034. Some travel may be required within the US to client sites (less than 30% per year) with all expenses paid by employer.
