Senior Back-end Engineer

VSG Recruitment is partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join its expanding engineering team.

Our client is developing an advanced AI-powered data platform that enables businesses to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets and improve how they engage with customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Build high-performance APIs and data-processing infrastructure.
• Develop AI-powered functionality using LLMs, vector databases, and RAG architectures.
• Optimize database performance, reliability, and system scalability.
• Build and maintain integrations with external platforms and services.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, system architecture, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate closely with leadership on technical strategy and product development.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, API development, and scalable infrastructure.
• Experience with vector databases and RAG-based applications.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or similar infrastructure technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with LLMs, Python, or machine learning.
• Background in SaaS, e-commerce, or data-intensive applications.
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup.
