IT Applications Engineer

Enterprise Network Architecture & Optimization: Design, architect, and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions aligned with VMware standards to ensure seamless connectivity across data centers and business-critical systems. Modernize infrastructure using VMware NSX and troubleshoot issues with VMware Aria Operations. Execute data center upgrades, restructuring, and cross-team initiatives to maintain performance and uptime. Implement security audits and self-defending network strategies using VMware vDefend Firewall, ensuring compliance with internal frameworks and industry standards. Network Security & Compliance Management: Strengthen network security by hardening devices, remediating vulnerabilities, and addressing risks identified through penetration testing and continuous assessments. Configure and manage firewalls to enforce policies protecting against unauthorized access and threats. Maintain compliance using VMware Aria Operations for Network to conduct proactive audits and ensure alignment with security baselines and regulatory standards. Perform ongoing risk and compliance assessments to enhance security posture and data integrity. Load Balancer & DNS Management: Design and implement load balancing solutions using VMware NSX Advanced Load Balancer (Avi) to ensure high availability and optimized traffic distribution. Lead migrations from F5 to Avi with minimal disruption. Manage DNS and IPAM via Infoblox, ensuring scalable and secure name resolution. Monitor and optimize load balancing and DNS performance using VMware Aria to address latency, capacity, and failover issues. Cloud Network Architecture & Connectivity Management: Develop hybrid cloud architectures integrating GCP, AWS, and on-prem environments, ensuring secure and scalable connectivity. Manage lifecycle of cloud workloads using VMware Aria Automation to optimize performance, cost, and compliance. Configure NSX-T, VPNs, and routing policies to enable secure multi-cloud connectivity and data transfer. Drive cloud modernization initiatives to improve agility and operational efficiency. Network Traffic & Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze network performance using VMware Aria Operations for Networks and Broadcom DX NetOps to identify bottlenecks and trends. Configure alerts via Aria Operations for Logs and DX Spectrum to detect anomalies and enable rapid issue resolution. Continuously optimize bandwidth usage and network performance to maintain high availability and user experience. WAN Analysis & Optimization: Evaluate WAN performance using VMware Aria tools to analyze traffic, capacity, and inefficiencies. Enhance WAN architecture to improve reliability, scalability, and throughput. Optimize vendor costs through benchmarking and contract reviews. Deploy VMware SD-WAN to improve routing, data transfer, and performance via intelligent traffic management. Project Planning & Implementation: Lead network project lifecycles by defining scope, timelines, and resource requirements aligned with organizational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, requirements, and validation of VMware solutions (NSX, Aria, Avi, VMware Cloud). Conduct risk and benefit analyses to ensure compliance and feasibility, and develop detailed implementation plans following ITIL-based processes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in the IT Applications Engineer, or any other related occupation, job title/position.
