What you'll be doing…
As a Manager of Technology/Cybersecurity Internal Audit, you'll be a trusted advisor and partner to the business - helping it move faster and smarter with objective insight into risk. You'll gain exposure to diverse aspects of our business through direct collaboration with leaders, playing a pivotal role in executing and leading risk-based engagements and strengthening testing methodologies and evidence standards.
- Be BOLD Standard: Act with agility to solve real customer problems, practice thoughtful candor, and take ownership of delivering impactful, ethical outcomes over mere activity.
Risk-based engagement design
- Bring a risk-based point of view to every engagement, focusing on the areas of highest risk and recommending the approach - audit, advisory, or a blend - that will deliver the most value.
- Lead or support the end-to-end execution of complex engagements, with a focus on cybersecurity and technology, ensuring compliance with internal audit methodology, high-quality preparation and review of workpapers, and proper vetting of observations, including leading vetting calls with process owners. Communicate results and risk ratings to management and process owners in terms of business impact, not just the control failure.
- Design and execute engagement programs across technology and cybersecurity domains, including general and advanced IT controls.
- Use problem solving and critical thinking to independently perform due diligence on potential observations - identifying control deficiencies, process owners, and mitigating controls, evaluating risk implications, and drawing appropriate conclusions. Draft observations and audit reports that include mitigating factors and risk analysis.
- Develop and advise on corrective action plans in accordance with IIA standards, and support management’s execution through to successful remediation.
- Continuously reassess and adjust the scope of your engagements as risk shifts so the focus keeps pace with the business.
- Support advisory engagements and special projects that provide proactive risk insight during major transformation initiatives - providing an early risk and controls perspective in the design phase rather than after the fact.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, and other assurance providers to support an integrated view of enterprise risk.
- Welcome and act on feedback from process owners following engagements to help enhance the value Internal Audit delivers.
Technology & AI
- Adopt and use self-service data analytics tools (e.g., SQL/BigQuery, Qlik, Alteryx, or similar) and enterprise GenAI assistants, ensuring your use strengthens testing rigor and efficiency without compromising evidence standards.
- Apply appropriate governance and control frameworks when your engagements touch AI-enabled or automated decision-making systems and know when to bring in specialist expertise.
Engagement Team leadership
- Lead engagement teams day to day, directing assignments, reviewing work, and holding the team accountable to audit commitments and quality standards.
- Coach and train Consultants, sharing technical expertise and promoting cybersecurity and software engineering skills, and provide timely, constructive feedback and clear direction throughout each engagement.
Delivering results
- Proactively surface solutions to challenges and roadblocks impacting audit commitments, partnering with Senior Managers, Associate Directors, Senior Directors, and business stakeholders.
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements with competing deliverables while balancing the needs of the business.
- Actively participate in efficiency projects that drive departmental goal completion.
- Continue to grow your knowledge and experience across emerging technology environments, platforms, and tools, and stay current on evolving internal audit practices and standards (e.g., IIA Global Internal Audit Standards), applying what you learn to your engagements and sharing it with the team.
What we're looking for…
You're a great teammate who enjoys collaborating with partners to achieve winning outcomes. You communicate openly across all levels to earn trust, and you listen carefully with the intent to understand. You apply sharp critical thinking to the details, and you don't stop at "what broke" - you ask why it happened and why it matters, connecting findings to real business and strategic impact. You operate with an AI-first, data-driven mindset, treating analytics and AI tools as a normal part of how the work gets done, and you translate technical findings into clear, business-focused recommendations that drive informed decisions.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree and four or more years of combined experience across Cybersecurity, Information Technology (IT), Auditing, Security & Privacy Services, Business Process Controls, IT Risk Management, SOX Advisory, or other related work.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
- Leadership skills, including strong judgment, problem-solving, and the ability to establish rapport, trust, and confidence with business stakeholders.
- Experience coaching and developing team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating audit findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to lead discussions with technical teams and business stakeholders, and to learn new technology concepts on demand.
- Demonstrated business acumen - able to connect audit findings to business context, priorities, and impact.
- Sound judgment regarding auditor independence and objectivity, including awareness of potential conflicts when engagements span both advisory and assurance work.
- Strong project management skills to independently manage and conduct multiple engagements and the engagement team simultaneously from beginning to end.
- Solid comprehension of information technology general and advanced controls, key industry standard frameworks, and cybersecurity protocols, coupled with a deep understanding of audit processes.
- Working knowledge of networks, cloud platforms, operating systems, servers, client/server architecture, system development, and Internet-related technology.
- Working understanding of self-service data/analytics tools (e.g., SQL/BigQuery, Qlik, Alteryx, or similar) sufficient to apply them in your engagements and quality-review their use by your engagement team.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or similar enterprise GenAI assistants) and foundational understanding of AI governance considerations (e.g., NIST AI RMF), sufficient to apply them responsibly to support audit processes and contribute to team efficiency, and assess related operational/security risks.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 10% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other relevant field.
- Prior work experience in a Public Accounting environment specializing in technology-based audits and cybersecurity.
- Professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CSX-P, CIA, CPA, AAIA, AAISM, or AAIR.
- Knowledge of industry frameworks and standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, COBIT, ISO 27001/27002, and CIS Security Controls, and experience applying them in areas such as security governance, system hardening, penetration testing, or social engineering.
- Understanding of network and system security and practices across all major computing areas (cloud, client/server, PC/LAN, VPN, DevOps) and Internet-related technology.
- Hands-on experience performing data queries and visualizations.
- Experience assessing AI-enabled or automated decision-making systems, and the data pipelines that feed them, for governance and control effectiveness.
- Experience building or piloting agentic AI or automation solutions within an audit or risk function.
