The Integration Manager leads the integration of acquired businesses into Ventura Community Partners (VCP) on behalf of the Integration Management Office (IMO). Working with the acquired business’s leadership and VCP’s functional leaders, the role builds and runs the integration plan from pre-close through handoff to operations, keeps every function moving to completion, and serves as the day-to-day contact for the acquired business’s leaders. The role manages multiple acquisitions at once.
VCP is a private equity-backed community association management platform growing through acquisitions. The role works closely with the VP, Integration, and the executive team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Integration planning and execution:
- Stand up each deal: the integration plan, the shared workspace, and the milestones and timing agreed with each functional lead.
- Drive the integration work of Finance, Accounting, HR, IT, Legal, and Operations, managing dependencies and sequencing across them.
- Track every workstream to its milestones. Surface risks and delays early and assess the impact when a date slips.
- Manage changes in scope and document decisions that change the plan.
Day 1 readiness:
- Build the Day 1 readiness plan and work it to completion, function by function.
- Lead communication planning including Day 1 messages and the employee town hall.
- Lead the integration kickoff with the acquired business and stage function kickoffs by priority.
Relationship with the acquired business:
- Serve as the single day-to-day contact for the acquired business’s leaders and lead the weekly leadership meeting.
- Make sure the acquired team hears one consistent VCP message, with communications coordinated through the IMO and the Communications team.
- Support cultural integration, helping the acquired team adjust to working as part of VCP.
Operating rhythm and reporting:
- Run weekly integration status meetings and send agendas, minutes and actions promptly.
- Provide regular executive updates and prepare steering committee materials, with integration status, issues and the decisions needed. Support the VP, Integration in tracking value creation milestones.
Risk, issues and escalation:
- Maintain the risk and issue log and drive each item to an owner, a decision and closure.
- Raise issues with the VP, Integration early when they affect people, the integration plan, commitments to the acquired team or deal terms.
Close-out and continuous improvement:
- Drive each function’s integration work to completion, document the handoff to operations, and run the close-out review.
- Capture lessons learned and use them to improve the integration approach.
Tools:
- Maintain integration plans, trackers and dashboards in the project management tool, and help functional leads update their own milestones.
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- 5 or more years in integration, transformation or program management roles, including at least 3 years of hands-on M&A integration experience.
- A track record of leading integrations end to end, from pre-close through handoff to operations.
- High emotional intelligence: reads people and situations well, builds trust quickly with leaders and employees going through significant change, and handles difficult conversations with empathy and candor.
- Strong program and project management skills across complex, cross-functional work; PMP or similar certification preferred.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with working knowledge of how Finance, Accounting, HR, IT, Legal, and Operations integrate, including Day 1 readiness and change management.
- Clear, composed communicator who adjusts detail to the audience, from acquired business leaders to executives.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, such as monday.com or similar Microsoft 365 and Teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% to support integration activities on site at acquired companies.
- Experience in community association (HOA) management, property management or a similar multi-site service business is a plus.
Preferred:
- 5 or more years of M&A integration experience.
- Experience in a private equity backed or roll-up company, managing more than one integration at a time.
- Experience coordinating systems and data transitions during integration.
COMPETENCIES
- Predictable: Meetings, minutes and summaries arrive on schedule in a consistent format.
- Big-picture view: Knows the strategy and deal terms well enough to explain what is happening and what comes next.
- Closes the loop: Catches every request and action from any source, puts it on the list with an owner and a date, and sees it through without needing a reminder.
- Emotional intelligence: Senses how people are experiencing the change, adjusts the approach to fit, and raises concerns early. Earns the trust of acquired leaders and teams.
- Influences across functions: Gets functional leaders to deliver on time without direct authority.
- Sound judgment: Raises issues early, with the impact and a recommendation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements can vary, but generally, they may include:
- Lifting: Occasional lifting of materials or equipment (e.g., laptops, documents) up to 15 pounds.
- Mobility: Ability to move throughout office environments and corporate facilities; may require walking during site visits or facility tours.
