Strong SSRS, SQL, and data validation skills are essential, along with the ability to document your work and train internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuild parameters, subreports, drillthrough, expressions, and shared datasets in Power BI
  • Validate data accuracy and reconcile converted reports against legacy SSRS outputs
  • Publish and configure reports in the Power BI Service, including gateways and subscriptions
  • Redesign selected reports as interactive Power BI dashboards
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data stewards to confirm business logic, metrics, and data definitions
  • Document report logic, data sources, and conversion decisions
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal staff

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on SSRS development

  • Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures, query development, and performance tuning
  • Experience reconciling and validating report outputs across platforms

  • Experience building interactive Power BI reports and dashboards, including DAX and Power Query
  • Ability to interpret and validate business rules from existing reports
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power BI Premium or Microsoft Fabric capacity
  • Experience with bulk or scripted report migration (e.g., PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with shared semantic models and row-level security
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery and Azure DevOps
