- Review customer agreements and apply revenue recognition guidance to subscription, usage-based, and other complex arrangements
- Evaluate performance obligations, variable consideration, standalone selling prices, contract modifications, and other technical revenue matters
- Prepare and maintain accounting memoranda, revenue policies, and audit-ready documentation supporting significant conclusions
- Manage billing and accounts receivable operations, including invoicing, collections, customer credits, concessions, and billing inquiries
- Reconcile usage data, customer agreements, invoices, accounting records, and cash receipts while resolving discrepancies at their source
- Account for commissions, incremental contract costs, prepaid credits, and other revenue-related balances
- Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success to evaluate non-standard arrangements before execution
- Support external audits by preparing revenue schedules, historical analyses, contract documentation, and responses to auditor requests
- Improve the flow of customer and contract information across CRM, billing, and ERP systems
- Develop scalable processes, internal controls, desktop procedures, and reporting tools supporting the order-to-cash cycle
- Identify opportunities to automate reconciliations, improve data integrity, and reduce manual accounting effort
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant ownership of revenue accounting and related close activities
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP revenue recognition guidance, including usage-based arrangements, contract modifications, variable consideration, and standalone selling price analyses
- Experience with subscription, consumption, cloud infrastructure, marketplace, or other complex technology revenue models
- Strong operational experience across billing, accounts receivable, collections, commissions accounting, and order-to-cash reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to review contracts independently, prepare technical accounting memoranda, and communicate conclusions to cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong CRM, ERP, Excel, and data-analysis capabilities, with the ability to build scalable processes in a high-growth environment
