Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Temp-to-Hire Location: New York, NY (On-site 4 days per week) Compensation: $45–$48/hour Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support its NYC accounting team on a temp-to-hire basis. This person will play a key role in the monthly close process, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and reporting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform balance-sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies
• Manage and support inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, reserves, costing, and related reporting
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost data
• Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, and ad hoc accounting projects
• Support audit requests and maintain accurate, well-organized supporting documentation
• Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior manufacturing and inventory accounting experience is required
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within an ERP system
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site environment
