Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Location: Hybrid in Mission Viejo area Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with a blend of public accounting and private industry experience. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong technical accounting fundamentals and hands-on experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare journal entries and month-end close schedules
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances
• Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Support internal and external audits
• Partner with AP and AR teams to ensure accurate accounting
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Participate in process improvements and special projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience required (Audit preferred)
• Mix of public and private accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, debits/credits, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Experience with month-end close and journal entries
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• ERP experience such as NetSuite, Great Plains, SAP, or similar
