We are recruiting a Senior Accountant to take ownership of key areas of month-end close, financial reporting, and account analysis. This role will work closely with business leaders while helping improve accounting processes and controls. The ideal candidate brings solid corporate accounting experience and is ready for increased responsibility and continued growth. This is a new role due to sustained growth
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
- Perform detailed review of balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify and resolve accounting issues.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and provide analysis of significant fluctuations and operating results.
- Evaluate accounting activity for appropriate treatment under US GAAP and assist with technical accounting research when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen accounting processes, controls, documentation, and reporting.
- Support preparation of financial statements and coordinate documentation for external audit requests.
- Work directly with operational and functional leaders to review results and address accounting-related questions.
- Analyze transactional data, trends, and variances to identify issues and provide meaningful financial insight.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, system initiatives, and special projects that extend beyond the routine close process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA preferred
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with meaningful hands-on month-end close responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills; a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience is a plus.
