Audit Senior/Staff (Public)

Requirements:

• Required to have 3+ years in public accounting and ideally be CPA or working on it. Only those with these qualifications will be considered. This is not an entry level position.
• We are specifically looking for experienced seniors with combination of publicly traded and privately held clients and a mix of industries but will certainly include Service, Real Estate, Manufacturing, some Non-profit, etc.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Strong management and mentoring skills.
• Hybrid work environment and limited travel.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

Responsibilities:

· Perform audit procedures in complex financial statement areas including accounts receivable, revenue, inventories, debt, and equity, and prepare thorough documentation of work performed and conclusions reached. · Serve as the primary client contact, proactively communicating project status, challenges, and estimated completion timelines to clients and firm management. · Analyze client financial statements including required disclosures, and identify and recommend internal control, process, or operational improvements.

• Audits of Financial Statements, including reviews of quarterly financial information
• Audits of internal control over financial reporting including Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 Perform testing of systems and accuracy of data.

· Supervise the execution of engagement project plans, ensuring work is completed consistently with established strategy and budget. · Review work performed by staff, provide quality control feedback, and mentor team members on areas for improvement.

• Evaluate internal controls.
• Preparation of audit work papers.
• External audit experience and research technical accounting issues.
• Experience with policy & procedure documentation/review and SOX.
