Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Irvine, CA | Onsite | Temporary Contract with Potential for Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to support a growing real estate organization in Irvine. This is a hands-on leadership role combining financial reporting, corporate accounting, investment-related accounting, and team oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting foundation, SEC reporting experience, and exposure to regulated or public-company reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Oversee general ledger activity and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Support SEC, regulatory, and investor-related financial reporting requirements
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting packages
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis, and budget-to-actual variance analysis
• Oversee accounting activities across multiple entities and investment structures
• Provide technical accounting guidance and research as needed
• Support cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and investment reconciliations
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and reporting
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other professional service providers
• Review and strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures
• Leverage ERP systems and advanced Excel functionality to improve reporting and efficiency
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting team members
• Assist with system enhancements, special projects, and other accounting initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA strongly preferred
• SEC reporting experience required
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close
• Combination of public accounting and private industry experience preferred
• Previous experience supervising, reviewing, or mentoring accounting staff
• Experience working with multiple entities or investment-related accounting environments preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, complex formulas, and financial analysis
• ERP experience and ability to work with large or complex financial datasets
• Strong technical accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with executives, auditors, and cross-functional partners
