Overview

Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.

The Production Scheduler controls floor execution for an assigned manufacturing area. The role owns the short-term horizon, deciding what releases to the floor, in what sequence, and confirming material readiness before any order goes live. The Production Scheduler monitors WIP, flags stalled or at-risk orders, coordinates daily priorities with supervisors, and keeps work moving through the area on schedule. The MRP Planner hands a workable plan to the Production Scheduler, who then owns sequencing, release decisions, and production-order replans when execution diverges from plan. Floor-level capacity conflicts are resolved within the area; cross-program conflicts escalate to the MDO Planning Lead. The role sits within MDO Integrated Planning and coordinates closely with the MRP Planner, Material Control, program coordination, shop supervisors, and the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Release production orders and manage the short-term execution horizon. Review the 0–30 day window, make release decisions based on material availability and floor readiness, and convert planned orders to released production orders so the floor has workable jobs on schedule. Material readiness is the default release standard, but business conditions may require releasing orders with known shortages. Those decisions are made in coordination with Front Line Supervisors and Material Control, weighing schedule risk against the cost of waiting.
  • Sequence work and coordinate daily floor execution. Determine the work sequence at each work center for the day and coming week, coordinate with supervisors to confirm loading matches the plan, and adjust sequencing when floor conditions change.
  • Facilitate the Tier 1A daily execution standup and monitor WIP. Run the Tier 1A daily execution standup for the assigned area (Monday through Thursday), confirm priorities with supervisors and program coordination, monitor active WIP for stalled or at-risk orders, and flag execution issues for resolution.
  • Maintain execution data accuracy and order documentation. Keep production order execution notes, sequence notes, and long-text fields current so the floor and downstream roles have accurate information. Confirm work center capacities and routings in SAP reflect reality.
  • Participate in planning cadence and report area capacity. Submit the capacity availability report for the assigned area before the Tier 2 weekly planning review, attend and represent area constraints at that review, and communicate priority decisions back to supervisors afterward.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years of production scheduling, shop floor planning, or manufacturing operations experience.
  • Hands-on experience making release decisions, sequencing work across work centers, and managing WIP in a production environment.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis and tracking.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Skills:

  • Defense, aerospace, or other regulated high-mix/low-volume environment experience.
  • Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA PP, including production order management and work center transactions.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, industrial/manufacturing, or a related field.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification preferred.

Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
