Manager Software Engineering

Overview

The Mastercard Business Intelligence Application Development Team builds innovative solutions that position Mastercard as a leader in delivering advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to a global customer base. We collaborate closely with product partners and technical teams to enhance existing products and launch new solutions worldwide.

We are seeking a highly skilled engineering leader who will:

Drive architecture, design, and technical strategy for new development initiatives, production support, and platform modernization while ensuring consistent delivery quality across internal teams and vendor partners.
Provide detailed cost and effort estimates, define technical scope and requirements, and partner with project managers and stakeholders to effectively manage scope throughout the project lifecycle.

Drive execution and delivery of complex engineering initiatives while balancing quality, reliability, scalability, and speed.
Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure software solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
Write and review high-quality, maintainable code while establishing engineering best practices and development standards. •Establish and promote effective unit, functional, and integration testing practices to validate software quality and system behavior throughout the development lifecycle. •Guide performance engineering efforts to identify bottlenecks and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Ensure platform designs support high availability, resilience, and near zero-downtime production operations.
Collaborate with business partners, product owners, and stakeholders to define product strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and delivery priorities.
Partner with Quality Engineering, Product Management, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure successful end-to-end product delivery.
Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, automation, incident management, systemic troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead capacity planning, resource management, and technical decision-making across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Champion innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, modern engineering practices, and automation opportunities.
Foster an inclusive and high-performance environment built on accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
