Original job description

⚙️ IT Software Developer - Enterprise Applications

Tucson, AZ | Onsite

Behind every aircraft system we build is an entire ecosystem of technology keeping engineering, manufacturing, quality, and the business connected.

We’re looking for an IT Software Developer - Enterprise Applications to help make that ecosystem better.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that enterprise applications aren't just software. They’re how products, data, processes, and people move through an organization.

You’ll work across ERP, PLM, manufacturing systems, integrations, data migration, and automation, partnering directly with teams across Universal Avionics to design solutions that improve how work gets done.

What You’ll Do

Configure, integrate, and support PLM capabilities and product data processes, including bills of material, engineering changes, configuration control, and lifecycle management.
Design and extend ERP functionality across business workstreams.
Plan and execute complex data migrations and conversions, from source mapping and transformation through cutover and validation.
Build and support integrations between MES, ERP, PLM, and shop-floor systems.
Design and support RPA workflows that automate manual engineering and manufacturing processes.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other business teams to turn real operational needs into technical solutions.
Develop and maintain supportable code, configurations, workflows, reports, and data components.
Support releases, troubleshoot business-critical applications, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
Identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, improve data quality, and make business processes more efficient.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of experience developing, configuring, integrating, or supporting business applications in a complex enterprise environment.
3+ years of hands-on experience with PLM or product data management platforms, including a production implementation, major upgrade, or enterprise integration.
3+ years of hands-on data migration or conversion experience, including complete migration cycles.
Experience integrating or supporting MES or shop-floor systems.
Experience designing or supporting RPA workflows.
Experience extending ERP functionality across multiple business workstreams.
Experience building integrations using APIs, middleware, messaging, file exchange, or similar patterns.
Strong application development skills and experience with technologies such as C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, .NET, SQL, and relational databases.

Even better if you bring: experience with platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle Agile, 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA, PTC Windchill, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, UiPath, Opcenter, Factory Track, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server, especially within aerospace, manufacturing, or another regulated environment.

✈️ Why Universal Avionics?

The systems behind the product matter.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across the technology that connects engineering, manufacturing, quality, product data, and enterprise operations, while helping modernize how those systems work together.

This isn’t a role where you disappear into a queue of development tickets. You’ll work directly with the people using these systems, understand the problem they’re trying to solve, and help build a better way forward.

If you like connecting complicated systems, untangling processes, and seeing the impact of what you build on the people actually doing the work, we want to hear what you can build with us.

Universal Avionics is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
