Join our team at United Methodist Communities. This position offers $96,475 - $108,534 per year, based on experience and a hybrid work environment. Why UMC United Methodist Communities has been Certified as a Great Place to Work for 9 years in a row and has proudly served New Jersey seniors for more than 100 years. Our team members feel the impact of what they do every day, with 87% saying their work makes a difference.

What You'll Do:

Build and Deploy AI Solutions

  • Design, build, and deploy AI agents, automations, and internal tools using Microsoft 365, Copilot Studio, Claude, OpenAI, Power Automate, Azure, and large language model APIs, connecting them to the systems where work happens such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and HR, clinical, and financial data
  • Prototype quickly, test with the people who will use each tool, and harden what works for production use, while documenting each solution and tracking its usage, cost, and results

Requirements and Solution Design

  • Turn requests from leadership into clear requirements by meeting with the staff who do the work, including time on site at UMC communities, the home office, and HomeWorks
  • Propose a practical approach, timeline, and level of effort for each request, confirm priorities with leadership, and raise questions, risks, and improvement ideas

Rollout, Training, and Support

  • Test solutions with staff before launch, refine them based on feedback, and explain how each tool works, what it can and cannot do, and how data is handled in plain language
  • Run demos, short trainings, and quick-reference guides for each release in partnership with BEAM’s digital literacy and adoption specialist, and continue collecting and acting on feedback after launch

BEAM Client Delivery

  • Adapt solutions proven at UMC for BEAM Advisors’ senior living clients, such as automation packs, AI governance tools, and assessment tools
  • Support BEAM advisors on client AI engagements through demos, prototypes, workshops, and technical implementation, and contribute to improvements in BEAM’s internal tools and platforms

Responsible AI, Security, and Quality

  • Follow UMC’s AI governance policy, HIPAA, and information security standards in everything built, using resident, teammate, or client data only as approved
  • Submit solutions for security and privacy review before production use, test AI output for accuracy and failure cases, and share lessons learned through lunch-and-learn sessions and written notes

What You'll Need:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, engineering, or a related discipline
  • 1+ year of experience building software, automations, data tools, or AI applications through employment, internships, research, or substantial independent projects, with working examples you can demonstrate
  • Ability to maintain any license, credential, or authorization required for assigned travel or client-site access

Preferred

  • Coursework or credentials in artificial intelligence or machine learning, health informatics, or business
  • Experience building applications with large language model APIs and agent frameworks; Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, or Microsoft Graph; and Python and JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, consulting, or another client-facing environment
  • Microsoft Azure, Power Platform, or Microsoft 365 certifications, or a comparable cloud, AI, or data certification

Pay and Benefits:

  • $96,475 - $108,534 per year, based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Group Life and Voluntary Life Insurance
  • Tuition Assistant, Professional Development and E-Learning
  • Generous Paid Time Off and 9 Paid Holidays
  • Retirement Plan with Employer Match
  • Employee Assistance & Discount Programs
