Key Responsibilities

Set clear expectations, support career growth, manage performance, and attract and retain exceptional technical talent. · Architecture and standards: Establish reference architectures, engineering standards, design patterns, and governance for conferencing, telephony, room systems, workspace technology, and associated integrations. · Portfolio and lifecycle management: Evaluate, select, implement, standardize, and retire platforms and devices across their lifecycle, balancing user experience, interoperability, resilience, security, supportability, and total cost of ownership. · Service reliability and operations: Strengthen incident, problem, change, and request-management practices; improve service availability; and drive disciplined root-cause analysis and continual service improvement. · Automation and observability: Create a practical framework for inventory, telemetry, monitoring, automation, capacity planning, and health reporting so that teams can identify issues proactively and make decisions using reliable data. · Stakeholder partnership: Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, Facilities, Real Estate, Security, Network, End User Computing, Production, and business teams. Explain trade-offs clearly and influence outcomes across organizational boundaries. · Budget and vendor management: Own or contribute to budget planning, sourcing, contract management, vendor performance, and financial optimization for the A/V and workplace technology portfolio. · Risk, security, and compliance: Partner with Security and Risk teams to incorporate appropriate access controls, privacy, resilience, data protection, and lifecycle controls into A/V and workplace solutions. · Innovation and continuous improvement: Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, test promising capabilities, and recommend adoption when they create measurable value for UMG. · Executive communication: Provide concise reporting on service health, priorities, risks, investments, roadmap progress, and business outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders. Required Qualifications · Leadership experience: Progressive experience leading A/V, workplace technology, unified communications, or related infrastructure engineering teams, including responsibility for direction, delivery, and talent development. · Technical depth: Strong knowledge of enterprise A/V and workplace technologies, including conferencing and collaboration platforms, telephony, room and workspace reservation systems, digital signage, signal flow, and related integrations. Experience with Dante or comparable audio-over-IP technologies is expected. · Engineering and architecture: Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, integrating, automating, and supporting reliable A/V solutions in complex enterprise environments. · Operational discipline: Strong background in IT service management, incident and problem management, change enablement, service measurement, and continual improvement. · Program and commercial management: Experience managing cross-functional programs, business analysis, vendor relationships, budgets, and competing priorities. · Communication and influence: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues in plain language and convert business needs into practical technology outcomes. · Hands-on problem solving: Comfortable deep-diving into existing and emerging technologies, diagnosing issues, evaluating options, and guiding teams toward pragmatic solutions. · Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, plus at least eight years of relevant A/V, workplace technology, unified communications, or infrastructure experience. · Global collaboration: Experience working across regions, time zones, cultures, and organizational boundaries. Occasional travel may be required but is not expected to be part of the regular work schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience operating A/V or workplace technology services at global scale, including distributed offices and high-visibility executive, artist, or performance environments. · Experience with AV-over-IP, DSP, room control, room analytics, digital signage, device management, and enterprise collaboration ecosystems. · Relevant certifications such as CTS/CTS-D, Dante, ITIL, PMP, or equivalent practical experience. · Experience building service catalogs, operating models, technology standards, or reference designs that improve consistency and reduce operational complexity. · Experience in the music, media, entertainment, creative, or live-events industries.
How Success Is Measured
· Improved reliability, availability, and user experience across critical A/V and workplace services. · Reduced repeat incidents and faster, more consistent resolution through effective service management and root-cause practices. · Clear standards, lifecycle plans, inventory visibility, and adoption of supported solutions across locations. · Responsible use of budget and vendor capacity, with transparent reporting on value, risk, and total cost of ownership. · A strong, engaged, and developing global team that delivers predictably and is recognized as a trusted partner by the business.
