This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career tax or accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate taxation while gaining exposure to the complexities of a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT).

As an Analyst – Tax, you'll support a broad range of federal, state, local, and indirect tax compliance and reporting activities, including tax return preparation, financial reconciliations, partnership allocations, and REIT compliance. You'll collaborate with experienced tax professionals and cross-functional business partners, gaining valuable insight into the tax considerations of a growing national real estate portfolio.

Our Tax team is continuing to evolve, with a focus on streamlining processes, leveraging technology, and creating greater efficiencies. We're looking for someone who brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and an interest in developing their technical expertise in a collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

• Tax Compliance & Reporting: Assist in preparing federal, state, and local income tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, and supporting schedules for partnerships, corporations, REITs, and other entities.

• Indirect Tax: Prepare assigned sales, use, business and occupation (B&O), and transient occupancy tax filings, ensuring accurate reconciliation with financial records.

• Financial Analysis & Reconciliations: Compile, analyze, and reconcile general ledger, fixed asset, and other financial information to support tax filings, reporting, and tax-basis records.

• Partnership & REIT Taxation: Support taxable income projections, partnership allocations, distributions, withholding calculations, and ongoing REIT compliance requirements.

• Tax Provision Support: Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision activities, including account reconciliations, tax accruals, and supporting documentation.

• Research & Regulatory Compliance: Research federal, state, and local tax requirements, assist with tax notices and audits, and maintain accurate supporting records.

• Transactions & Business Support: Gain exposure to acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and entity restructuring by assisting with tax-related calculations and documentation.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance tax workflows, reporting accuracy, documentation, and efficiencies through technology and process improvements.

• Collaboration: Partner with internal departments and external service providers to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and meet critical reporting deadlines.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and an interest in developing expertise in corporate taxation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, reconciliations, data organization, and financial analysis.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, well-supported work.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related field; relevant internship experience is welcome.

• Coursework or experience in income taxation, financial reporting, fixed assets, or tax compliance.

• Exposure to partnership taxation, multistate tax compliance, real estate taxation, or REIT structures.

• Experience with tax preparation, accounting, or financial reporting systems, including Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Checkpoint, or PeopleSoft.

• Interest in process optimization, tax technology, automation, and continued professional development.
