As a Research Program Analyst, you'll serve as a trusted resource for investigators, helping them navigate UCLA Health's data, analytics, informatics, and technology capabilities. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of research, data, technology, and healthcare, helping investigators navigate complex needs and gain access to the tools and expertise that can accelerate meaningful discovery.
You'll work directly with researchers to understand their goals, translate complex needs into clear requirements, and connect them with the right platforms, experts, and institutional resources. When an existing solution isn't the right fit, you'll help evaluate new options and coordinate the expertise needed to move innovative research forward.
In this role, you will:

- Translate research needs into clear requirements and identify practical, fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Connect researchers with the right technology platforms, research cores, service owners, compliance teams, and subject-matter experts.
- Coordinate handoffs, escalations, and follow-through to keep research initiatives moving forward.
- Track requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies, recommendations, and project status to ensure continuity and transparency.
- Use established metrics and performance indicators to evaluate demand, service delivery, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with Research Informatics program leaders to develop training, workshops, office hours, and guidance that promote responsible use of technology and strong data-management, security, stewardship, and reproducibility practices.
Pay Range: $82,434.24 - $171,779.76 annually.Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The University anticipates offering a salary between the minimum and midpoint of this range.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, biomedical informatics, data science, public health, computer
science, information technology, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and
relevant experience. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum three years of customer-facing experience in a technical, biomedical research, scientific, data,
consulting, or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document requirements, analyze complex needs, and translate technical or
regulatory concepts for nontechnical audiences.
- Experience coordinating multiple simultaneous projects or engagements involving diverse stakeholders and
competing priorities.
- Foundational understanding of data security, privacy, research compliance, and responsible data-use
considerations relevant to biomedical research, including regulated or sensitive research data.
- Familiarity with cloud services or secure technical environments sufficient to understand researcher needs and
engage appropriate technical teams.
- Strong communication, facilitation, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and relationship-management
skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Ability to learn new technologies and research domains quickly and to determine when specialized expertise or
escalation is needed.
