Original job description

Job Duties

Design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and maintain enterprise-grade, cloud-native applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices architecture. Own the full-stack lifecycle, delivering production-ready, testable, and maintainable code across backend services, APIs, and integrations, with strong emphasis on code quality, scalability, and resilience. Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring compliance with API design standards, versioning strategies, and backward compatibility. Apply object-oriented design principles, domain-driven design, and architectural best practices to produce optimal system designs that meet performance, reliability, availability, and scalability requirements. Develop and manage microservices deployed on Kubernetes-based platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Rancher), including service discovery, configuration management, and inter-service communication. Build and maintain data persistence layers using relational databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server) and NoSQL databases - Cassandra, including schema design, query optimization, and data consistency strategies. Perform root cause analysis on application failures, performance bottlenecks, and security issues; propose architectural and code-level improvements to enhance system stability and operational efficiency. Implement security best practices, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication/authorization mechanisms, secure API gateways (e.g., Apigee), and adherence to enterprise and regulatory compliance standards. Embed Software Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices into development workflows, including observability, logging, monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery strategies. Participate in and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback on design, performance, security, and maintainability while enforcing engineering standards and development procedures. Leverage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins / CloudBees, automated testing, and deployment strategies to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable releases. Develop and deploy applications in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing cloud-native services and infrastructure-as-code principles. Work within an Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating closely with product owners, scrum masters, engineers, QA, and third-party vendors to deliver incremental value.
