Original job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the taxation and wealth planning practice of a national law firm as a client-facing trusts and estates associate. You will advise high-net-worth individuals and families, with the opportunity to develop long-term client relationships and take on an established practice as a senior partner approaches retirement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Advise individuals and families on estate planning and complex wealth transfer strategies.
  • Draft and review wills, trusts, irrevocable trusts, charitable giving plans, and related documents.
  • Counsel trustees and executors on fiduciary duties and trust and estate administration.
  • Work directly with clients and build trusted, ongoing relationships.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Five to seven years of trusts and estates law experience advising high-net-worth clients.
  • Strong knowledge of gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer tax regimes.
  • Experience drafting advanced estate planning documents and advising on trust and estate administration.
  • Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice in Georgia, or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Strong academic record, including a law school GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Entrepreneurial approach and comfort in a direct, client-facing role.
  • Stable work history, or clear context for shorter tenures, and willingness to provide conflicts information before an offer.
  • Comfort working in a small-office environment and being in the office at least three days per week.
  • Authorized to work without visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
