Original job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the mobile team at a consumer marketplace startup to build and scale its native iOS app. You will work closely with product, design, and backend partners to deliver a polished experience and take ownership of features from concept through launch.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and ship high-quality iOS features in Swift, owning the full lifecycle from idea to launch.
  • Define and evolve the app architecture as the mobile team grows.
  • Create fast, polished native interfaces and interactions for users.
  • Debug production issues and improve app reliability and performance.
  • Establish engineering practices and standards for the mobile team.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1 to 5+ years of professional iOS development experience using Swift.
  • Hands-on experience owning a native iOS app end to end, either professionally or through an app published on the App Store.
  • Experience building and scaling iOS apps, with familiarity with MVVM or similar architecture patterns.
  • Strong understanding of iOS fundamentals, software architecture, REST APIs, and asynchronous data handling.
  • Able to work independently through ambiguity and ship projects from problem definition to finished outcomes.
  • Product-focused experience in a startup, consumer technology, marketplace, or design-forward product environment is valuable.
  • Familiarity with gamified consumer products and practical use of AI models or agentic workflows is a plus.
