Senior Software Engineer, Distributed Systems (Core)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a backend engineering team building and improving the distributed systems behind a data syncing platform. You will help move large volumes of customer data reliably and efficiently across a global, multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Analyze and optimize the syncing pipeline to increase throughput and reduce sync times.
• Develop systems that support real-time and streaming data syncs from sources such as webhooks and queues.
• Identify scaling and reliability bottlenecks, then design systems to support significant growth.
• Build and improve low-latency data services for real-time personalization use cases.
• Extend multi-region and multi-cloud infrastructure to support global availability and data residency needs.
• Own projects end to end and work with customers on challenging scaling problems.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 7 years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on distributed systems work.
• Strong backend engineering and systems design fundamentals, with experience operating systems through major growth.
• Experience building event collection, data streaming, or data movement services that support critical systems.
• Working knowledge of message queues, Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience moving large data volumes at scale; familiarity with infrastructure-level tools and systems such as Spark, Flink, or Kafka is beneficial.
• Clear communication skills, sound technical judgment, and an ownership-oriented approach.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a background primarily in backend systems rather than data engineering or DevOps.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $180,000 to $320,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
