Senior Software Engineer, Core Systems

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a small engineering team at an early-stage healthtech company building a radiology-as-a-service platform. You will own and evolve the backend infrastructure for data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed AI model inference.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure across data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed model inference on AWS.
• Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning across the stack.
• Build CI/CD and deployment automation that helps a lean team ship safely and efficiently.
• Design systems that handle protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
• Collaborate with the ML team on ML infrastructure and model inference pipelines as priorities require.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5 years of experience in data infrastructure, backend engineering, or distributed systems.
• Production experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS or a comparable cloud.
• Proficiency in a backend language such as Go, Python, or Java.
• Depth in data infrastructure, including large-scale pipelines, ETL, data warehouses or lakes, and schema evolution.
• Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and troubleshooting complex distributed systems, including performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs.
• Experience leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across systems or teams, as well as working on a small, fast-moving team.
• Exposure to ML infrastructure or model inference pipelines and HIPAA-conscious system design is valuable.
• TypeScript, React, Docker, and strong computer science or STEM fundamentals are relevant.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary range: $215,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
