Original job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Design and deliver real-time electronic control systems for flight vehicles in the defense and aerospace sector. This hands-on role owns hardware from initial design through bring-up, validation, and integration, working closely with guidance, navigation and control, avionics, and flight software teams.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design control electronics boards, including motor controllers, actuator drivers, and feedback and control circuits.
  • Own hardware development end to end, from PCB design through bring-up, debugging, integration, and production.
  • Develop microcontroller, microprocessor, and mixed-signal circuitry for real-time processing and control.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate hardware with vehicle systems.
  • Define requirements and make technical decisions across the hardware design.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Three to 15 years of experience designing control or power electronics hardware, including motor drivers or actuator controllers.
  • A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience designing, bringing up, and debugging control or power electronics PCB assemblies.
  • Experience with analog and mixed-signal circuits for motor drivers, power conversion, or precision control loops.
  • PCB design skills from schematic capture through layout; Altium experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, ARM microcontrollers, CAN, DDR, FPGA, and embedded C.
  • Background in flight hardware or other high-reliability systems, such as aerospace, defense, or automotive, and experience in a fast-paced hardware environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance. Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
