Original job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Build full-stack software that supports a venture capital firm's application pipeline, events, and internal operations. This product engineering role combines engineering, product decisions, and operational problem-solving to turn complex workflows into useful tools for internal teams and founders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, build, and ship full-stack applications for application workflows, events, and internal tools.
- Develop event systems for registration, coordination, and media handling.
- Integrate with services such as calendars, team communication tools, email, and data pipelines.
- Build AI and search capabilities, including semantic search, embeddings, and natural language interfaces.
- Automate scheduling, notifications, status tracking, email triage, and other operational workflows.
- Work with partner and operations teams to understand needs, improve processes, and surface information effectively.
- Create dashboards and analytics for pipeline health and operational metrics.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- One to twelve years of experience building and shipping full-stack products, including ownership of problem definition, user experience, and deployment.
- Experience building both backend systems and polished frontend interfaces, with a product-minded approach and comfort making decisions independently.
- Experience with Rails, React, PostgreSQL, or comparable technologies, as well as Python or equivalent tools for AI-enabled products.
- Hands-on experience building or shipping AI/LLM projects, such as workflow automation, copilots, semantic search, or embedding-based systems.
- Startup or early-stage company experience, including founding or engineering roles, and the ability to work through ambiguity.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, demonstrated through education or exceptional projects.
