ABOUT THE ROLE
Join a close-knit legal team as a Litigation Associate handling defense matters, primarily premises liability. This role offers direct collaboration with senior attorneys, mentorship, and the opportunity to manage cases from inception through resolution.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Manage a full caseload of general defense litigation from intake through resolution.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Appear in court and represent clients at mediations and settlement conferences.
- Work with senior partners on trial preparation, legal strategy, and client communications.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and case strategy documents.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Two to seven years of law firm experience handling a full caseload of defense litigation.
- A Juris Doctor degree, admission to the New York State Bar, and an active New York law license.
- Experience appearing before judges and attending court conferences.
- Deposition experience, including conducting and defending depositions.
- Strong drafting skills across motions, pleadings, and discovery.
- Familiarity with New York City and Long Island courts; premises liability or general negligence experience is helpful.
- A collaborative approach and interest in a mentorship-oriented team.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $125,000 to $165,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
LOCATION
Hybrid, with the primary location in New York City, New York. The role requires in-office work during onboarding, with a flexible hybrid arrangement afterward.
