Lead Software Engineer, Platform

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join the platform team at an AI and machine learning company building document processing technology. You will strengthen the systems behind customer workloads, working closely with ML engineers to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own and improve the platform that runs document processing jobs, with a focus on speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with ML teams to serve in-house models efficiently and integrate them into production pipelines.
• Build and maintain databases, task orchestration, workload scheduling, and cloud deployment infrastructure.
• Improve distributed systems to address latency, reliability, and scaling challenges as workload volume grows.
• Participate in on-call rotations and take end-to-end responsibility for platform health.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 5 years of platform or backend engineering experience, including building distributed systems.
• Strong Python skills, or deep Go or Rust expertise and willingness to work in Python.
• Experience with task orchestration, platform reliability, cloud infrastructure, and model serving optimization.
• Application-level engineering experience in addition to infrastructure work, along with production on-call experience.
• Experience owning and scaling core infrastructure, ideally including work in a fast-growing startup and mature systems at scale.
• Evidence of technical impact through growing responsibility, rapid career progression, or open-source contributions.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $220,000 to $320,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
