Original job description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join an early-stage product engineering team building enterprise contract intelligence software in the legal technology sector. You will help develop a customer-facing AI product and shape its technical direction from end to end.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Architect, build, and own the user-facing application across frontend and backend systems.
- Develop and ship production AI agents that support complex, multi-step contract workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teammates to turn product needs into reliable software.
- Set engineering practices, contribute to technical strategy, and guide roadmaps.
- Define and implement measures of success for the team and its products.
- Initiate and lead technical projects in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 6 or more years building AI products professionally.
- Experience building production software at a SaaS startup, ideally at an early or growth stage, and owning development end to end within a small team.
- A track record shipping customer-facing, multi-step agentic products that use tools and orchestration, rather than only RAG chatbots or internal tools.
- Strong Python and SQL/Postgres skills, plus hands-on experience with JavaScript, React, or another modern frontend framework.
- Proficiency across multiple programming languages, with experience using databases, Git, CI/CD, and agent frameworks.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- A computer science degree and broad engineering experience across AI domains; experience with LLM monitoring, evaluation, or model training is a plus.
- Comfort working through challenging, ambiguous problems and demonstrating career growth through sustained roles.
