Founding Senior Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage AI company building growth tools for consumer brands as its second engineer. You will ship product hands-on while helping establish the engineering culture and architecture.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Build data infrastructure to track merchant lifecycle events and understand which actions lead to outcomes.
• Develop an agentic growth system that assesses operations, identifies opportunities, and executes changes automatically.
• Own full-stack development of the growth engine, with a strong focus on backend systems and infrastructure.
• Build reliable integrations with commerce and advertising platforms, along with orchestration tools.
• Mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in day-to-day development.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Five to eight years of full-stack engineering experience, with strong backend skills in data infrastructure, event systems, and API integrations.
• Experience building production-grade LLM-powered or agentic systems with third-party API integrations and end-to-end ownership.
• Experience at a startup during its Series A to C growth, or equivalent early-stage and 0-to-1 building experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring one or two engineers, and the ability to bring structure to ambiguous work and prioritize effectively.
• Familiarity with commerce and marketing technology integrations such as Shopify, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and Klaviyo.
• Working knowledge of Python, TypeScript, and LLMs, plus strong communication skills.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $175,000 to $225,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
