Founding Product Designer

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the founding product designer at an early-stage AI data company, you will own the end-to-end experience for a contributor platform supporting audio data annotation and AI model development. You will work closely with the founding team and engineers to make complex tasks clear and intuitive for a broad consumer audience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Identify usability problems, design solutions, and ship product improvements directly to production.
• Create flows and interfaces that help contributors understand task requirements and complete work successfully.
• Translate new project requirements into clear experiences in partnership with the founding team and engineers.
• Build and evolve the product's design system, reusable components, and visual language.
• Use AI coding tools and the existing frontend infrastructure to implement and ship your UI changes.
• Prototype rapidly, observe user behavior, and iterate, including testing meaningfully different design approaches.
• Improve product craft and consistency across loading and empty states, responsive layouts, copy, and edge cases.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• One to two years of product or UX design experience, including internships, or equivalent strong experience.
• Consumer product design experience and the ability to create intuitive experiences beyond dashboard-focused work.
• Experience shipping frontend or UI changes to production, not just handing off designs.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, plus AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex.
• Strong design taste, high iteration speed, and comfort with experimentation and A/B testing.
• Startup experience is valuable, particularly at an early-stage or AI-focused company.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $130,000 to $160,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
