Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage AI customer success software team as its founding Forward Deployed Engineer. You will work directly with enterprise customers to bring AI agents into production, deliver measurable value, and turn field learnings into product improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Embed with customers to understand onboarding, adoption, and renewal workflows, then identify where AI agents can help.
• Configure and deploy customer agents, connect data sources such as BigQuery and Salesforce, and set up SSO and integrations.
• Build evaluations using customer data, assess agent quality, and iterate until deployments meet quality standards.
• Partner with go-to-market teams to support sales, account activation, and expansion as the technical lead.
• Bring customer feedback into the product and improve the platform when it limits successful deployments.
• Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and deliver focused solutions that prove value.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Three to seven years in customer-facing software engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or solutions engineering, including ownership of technical customer rollouts.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM agents with customers, including prompts, evaluations, and complex, long-running agents.
• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, plus React frontend experience; familiarity with PostgreSQL, RAG, CI/CD, and agent frameworks is relevant.
• Experience in an early-stage, high-growth startup and customer-facing deployments; a mix of larger-company and startup experience is valued.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, stable role tenure, and evidence of recent career growth.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Equity is offered. Visa sponsorship is not available.
