Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage B2B SaaS team building AI-powered tools for revenue growth. As a founding deployment engineer, you will take technical implementations from customer data discovery through production, helping turn complex business information into reliable data models and agent workflows.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead customer onboarding from data access planning through warehouse discovery and mapping schemas to business concepts such as churn, expansion, and recurring revenue.
• Build and validate semantic models by working with customer stakeholders to resolve competing definitions and encode agreed logic in verified SQL.
• Deploy platform workflows and agent pipelines in customer environments, then monitor their performance and business outcomes.
• Manage multiple customer engagements, balancing direct collaboration with customer teams and hands-on data work.
• Use internal agent tools and share feedback that improves evaluation guardrails, validation frameworks, and agent infrastructure.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Two to five years of experience in forward deployed engineering, data science, or customer-facing software engineering.
• Experience owning customer deployments end to end and independently shipping and troubleshooting production code, data pipelines, or systems.
• Strong SQL and data warehouse skills, including the ability to work with undocumented or legacy schemas and verify results.
• Experience with data science or machine learning, or academic grounding in statistics, mathematics, or applied mathematics.
• Fluency with SQL, dbt, data warehousing, Python, LLMs, AI agents, signal engineering, or evaluation frameworks.
• A quantitative STEM background and experience in a startup, consulting, or other resourceful environment are valuable.
• Comfort defending technical recommendations with customers, adapting to evidence, and doing detailed, repetitive data verification.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $180,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
