Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage AI software team building agents for post-sales customer lifecycle workflows. As the founding forward deployed engineer, you will work directly with enterprise customers to take solutions from initial discovery through production, then apply what you learn to improve the platform.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work with customers to understand onboarding, adoption, and renewal processes and identify where AI agents can help.
• Configure and deploy agents using customer data sources, including data warehouses and CRM systems, and set up integrations and single sign-on.
• Build evaluations with real customer data to measure agent quality and improve results before launch.
• Partner with go-to-market teams on technical discovery, account activation, and expansion.
• Bring customer feedback into the product and improve platform capabilities when they create deployment obstacles.
• Debug production deployments, investigate root causes, and deliver focused solutions that demonstrate value.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Three to seven years in customer-facing software engineering, forward deployed engineering, or solutions engineering, with experience owning technical deployments.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM agents with customers, including prompt development, evaluations, and complex long-running agents.
• Strong Python and FastAPI backend skills, plus React frontend experience.
• Experience at an early-stage, high-growth startup, ideally alongside experience in a larger technology company.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a track record of growth and stable role tenure.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary is $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Hybrid in San Francisco, California.
